Nghệ An Launches Sixth “House of Wisdom” in a High School
VINH CITY, NGHỆ AN – The “House of Wisdom” at Nghi Loc 3 High School officially opened its doors on May 5th, establishing the sixth such innovative learning center within a school in Nghệ An province.
For over a year, the school’s administration has been exploring the “House of Wisdom” model, aiming to provide students and teachers with an enriching educational space. The center boasts thousands of books, numerous free clubs and classes, and provides opportunities for direct engagement with leading national and international experts.

The school has transformed its 160m² former library into a completely new facility with modern interior design and decoration, intended to foster a fresh, inspiring, and enjoyable atmosphere for reading and learning. Here, students can not only build their knowledge but also explore their strengths and unlock hidden potential through various club activities.
Currently, eight clubs are active: Books and Action, Media, Music, Volunteering, Digital Transformation, English, Literature, and Natural Sciences. Additionally, specialized workshops and volunteer activities will be coordinated by members of the broader “House of Wisdom” network and the “Compassionate Bookshelf” project.
In preparation for the launch, the school had already established an 80m² library space with over 4,000 books, available for borrowing every day of the week. The school also implemented a 15-minute reading session at the beginning of class every Tuesday and Thursday, and holds a book introduction ceremony under the flag every Monday morning.

Students are also encouraged to create video book reviews and participate in presentations and debates about books they have read. These activities, along with active participation in Nghệ An province’s “Reading Culture Ambassador” competition, are designed to help them develop the crucial soft skills required in the modern era.
“We believe the ‘House of Wisdom’ will be a perfect piece in the school’s picture of comprehensive education, especially in fostering a capacity for lifelong learning among our teachers and students,” stated Ms. Phạm Thị Tuyết Mai, Principal of Nghi Loc 3 High School.
Attending the launch, singer-songwriter Jimmii Nguyễn, who shares a passion for reading and lifelong learning, was moved. “What the founders of the ‘House of Wisdom’ and the teachers here are doing is exactly what I have long cherished,” he shared. “That is, to ignite students’ dreams through good books, a thirst for knowledge, and inspiring stories from those who have gone before.”
On this occasion, along with sharing music and inspiring stories with the students, Jimmii Nguyễn and his “Du Ca” music project donated 550 books to the new “House of Wisdom” at Nghi Loc 3 High School.
