Second “House of Wisdom” Launched at a School in Quang Ngai
To celebrate Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21), Nguyen Nghiem Primary School in Duc Pho Town inaugurated its “House of Wisdom” on April 20. This is the second House of Wisdom established within a school in Quang Ngai Province.
Principal Nguyen Ngoc Tuan shared that the school had nurtured this idea for the past two years. “From the concept of an open library for students to connecting with the founders of the House of Wisdom model, we were determined to build a friendly and open learning space. This is where students can easily access knowledge not only through books but also through cultural exchanges, educational activities, and creative experiences,” he said.

The House of Wisdom, located on the ground floor with an area of more than 200 square meters, includes a reading room and learning spaces. Thousands of age-appropriate books across various genres provide students and teachers with a rich source of knowledge, helping foster a culture of reading within the school.
According to Principal Tuan, the school will also develop clubs based on students’ interests and talents—such as English, fine arts, music, chess, and traditional games—aimed at nurturing character, enhancing competencies, and improving overall education quality.

The House of Wisdom is designed to promote reading culture, inspire learning, and support the all-round development of students’ character and skills. Its establishment reflects the dedication of the teaching staff, the support of the education sector, local authorities, philanthropists, and parents.
At the inauguration ceremony, the Duc Pho Fellow Countrymen’s Association in Ho Chi Minh City, together with donors, presented 15 bookcases worth VND 30 million to the House of Wisdom.

Colonel Huynh Quang Tam, Head of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Division under the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department and a member of the Duc Pho Association, emphasized:
“Those of us from Duc Pho living in Ho Chi Minh City always look toward our homeland. Beyond building charity houses, we value education. Every year, we provide scholarships to disadvantaged students, donate hundreds of Compassionate Bookshelves to schools in Quang Ngai, and especially, expand the House of Wisdom model to create meaningful lifelong learning spaces for schools and communities.”
The House of Wisdom at Nguyen Nghiem Primary School is expected to become a vibrant cultural and educational hub, where reading and learning become an enjoyable part of students’ daily lives.
