Book Donation and Student Exchange in Bình Phước Province
Through Thanh Niên Newspaper, the Compassionate Bookshelf program, in collaboration with Nguyễn Khuyến High School (Bù Nho Commune, Phú Riềng District, Bình Phước Province), recently donated 30 bookshelves to schools across the province.
Dozens of bookshelves containing thousands of titles across a wide range of genres—biographies, science, literature, history, geography, life skills, English, and bilingual books—tailored to students of different age groups, were presented to Võ Thị Sáu Primary School, Nguyễn Khuyến High School, and others.

A highlight of the event was the student exchange, where learners at Nguyễn Khuyến High School had the opportunity to meet Dr. Nguyễn Đông Hải, a young academic who has taught at universities in the United States; and Dr. Nguyễn Thu Hằng, co-founder of the Compassionate Bookshelf program, together with her daughter, currently studying abroad in Singapore.
During the exchange, Dr. Hải emphasized that books are the key to unlocking countless opportunities for advancement and career development, especially for students. Dr. Hằng and her daughter shared their own real-life experiences, inspiring students to cultivate a passion for reading and learning.
Nguyễn Mạnh Trường, Principal of Nguyễn Khuyến High School, remarked that this was the first time the school library had received such a large collection of valuable books. “These books not only provide useful knowledge for students but also open up an infinite source of wisdom, enabling them to explore, experience, and gain confidence in pursuing science, technology, and future innovations,” he shared.
Nguyễn Quốc Huy, Director of the Compassionate Bookshelf program, noted that this was the second time the program, with support from philanthropists, had provided bookshelves for students in Bình Phước. “Bookshelves are an indispensable part of shaping a positive school culture. That is why the Compassionate Bookshelf program has always accompanied schools nationwide in building both bookshelves and a strong reading ecosystem,” he affirmed.
Upon hearing the news that the Compassionate Bookshelf program was bringing books to students and schools, Nguyễn Thị Minh Phương, former Principal of Nguyễn Khuyến High School, expressed her joy: “Many thanks to Thanh Niên Newspaper and to the Compassionate Bookshelf program. I am truly happy, because this has been my wish since more than a year ago, when I told the program organizers: ‘Our school library is lacking so many titles—reference books, literature, poetry, stories… The more diverse the collection, the better.”
