According to Doan Tu Hoan, Director of the Dong Tay Cultural Space and a member of the Compassionate Bookshelf program, the donation aims to give students another channel to access knowledge for learning and self-enrichment.
“Once students develop a love for reading, they will open the door to new horizons of knowledge that can replace unhealthy habits. Reading is the first step toward building a foundation for lifelong learning—something that will ultimately shape their future,” Hoan emphasized during an exchange with students.

Principal Tran Duy Huong of Thuong Vuc Secondary School affirmed that the 32 donated bookshelves are not only a valuable source of knowledge but also a key to helping students access humanistic values, creativity, and patriotism.
“You have delivered to us a strong message of sharing and a commitment to investing in the future. This recognizes the vital role of reading, igniting passion, knowledge, and reading culture among our students,” he said.

Principal Huong added that the donated bookshelves will play an important role in nurturing and developing a reading culture at the school. The books will serve as a source of encouragement, helping students spark dreams and ambitions while fostering resilience and determination. Through these books, they will gain a solid foundation of knowledge to thrive and accompany the nation into a new era.

The donation ceremony also featured exchanges and performances by artists Jimmii Nguyen, Ngoc Pham, MC Van Hugo, Alena, Jimmii Band, and Lamaqua. These activities inspired students to embrace reading, pursue their dreams, and carry forward the humanistic values of the Compassionate Bookshelf program, ensuring its continued growth.

Since 2016, the Compassionate Bookshelf program has donated tens of thousands of bookshelves to schools across the country. With the support of businesses and philanthropists, the program has reached border regions, disadvantaged areas, and cities alike—bringing knowledge closer to students nationwide.
