Tuoi Tre Newspaper Donates Over 1,000 Books to Students in Ha Tinh
HA TINH – On November 12, Mr. Tran De, Principal of Thuan Loc Primary and Secondary School in Hong Linh town, Ha Tinh province, confirmed that the school had received an additional 580 valuable books sent from Ho Chi Minh City by Tuoi Tre Newspaper to help build a library for students.

Principal Tran De stated that the “Books for Students – For the Community” program has now delivered over 1,000 books in total, significantly enriching the school’s library resources.
This donation is considered a particularly meaningful gift during the month of Teacher Appreciation Day (November 20th), arriving just as the school is focusing on developing its “Green Library” model to provide students with essential learning and reference materials.
“The ‘Books for Students – For the Community’ program, along with tributes from former students, affirms a humanistic education. It reminds us all, especially the current students, to always remember our roots, our homeland, and the respect owed to our teachers, echoing the proverb, ‘If someone teaches you one word, he is your teacher; if he teaches you half a word, he is still your teacher,'” Mr. De said.

Previously, on November 7th and 8th, journalist Hoang Tri Dung, head of Tuoi Tre Newspaper’s representative office in the Southwest region, presented 500 books to Thuan Loc Primary and Secondary School’s library and another 100 books to the “House of Wisdom” bookshelf in Thuan Loc commune.
The “Books for Students – For the Community” program was initiated by journalist Hoang Tri Dung and the school’s alumni. The initiative includes paying tribute to teachers for November 20th, donating books to the library, and giving gifts to students.
The program received significant support from the Cao Lanh City Book Street (Dong Thap province). Additionally, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Le Minh Hoan, personally sent 100 books to the “House of Wisdom” in Hong Nguyet village, Thuan Loc commune. This valuable collection was personally read and selected by the minister to promote the “Reading with Cyclo” spirit among farmers and agricultural businesses, a movement he initiated.
The donated books are aimed at children and include various genres such as folk tales, children’s stories, life skills, and moral and health education. Notably, the donation included a 53-volume illustrated set on Vietnamese history, designed to make learning history more engaging and interesting for students.

Mr. Le Ba Hoang, Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training for Hong Linh town, expressed his gratitude to Tuoi Tre Newspaper for acting as a bridge and to the alumni for their valuable contribution of books and school supplies.
“These gifts are not only a useful resource to help students expand their knowledge but also a source of spiritual encouragement on their path of learning and development. This will be a great motivation for the students of Thuan Loc to strive and advance further,” Mr. Hoang stated. “I urge the school to implement solutions to ensure these become ‘living books,’ truly making an impact in raising students’ awareness.”
